When Your Emotions Feel Broke:

 The Psychology Behind Wealth

What if our struggles with money aren’t about numbers at all — but about the stories our nervous system learned long before we ever earned a paycheck?

In this powerful, story-driven keynote, I explore the often-overlooked emotional foundations of wealth, worth, and self-trust. Through personal narrative, psychological insight, and practical frameworks, she reveals how early experiences of scarcity, perfectionism, and survival quietly shape our relationship with money, success, and receiving — even years later.

Audiences are invited to look beyond traditional financial literacy and into emotional literacy around money: the beliefs, fears, and protective patterns that influence earning, spending, self-advocacy, and confidence. Rather than framing overspending, under-earning, or impostor syndrome as failures of discipline, this talk reframes them as adaptive responses rooted in safety, identity, and unmet emotional needs.

At the heart of the keynote is a grounded, accessible framework — Mindset, Heartset, Skillset, and Toolset — which helps participants understand:

  • How inherited money beliefs and scarcity scripts shape behavior

  • How guilt, shame, fear, or unworthiness live in the body

  • Why high achievers often struggle with receiving, pricing, or visibility

  • How nervous-system regulation supports sustainable success and confidence

This talk does not promote hustle culture or quick financial fixes. Instead, it offers a compassionate, psychologically informed pathway for shifting from fear-based survival to possibility-based living.

Participants leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of how emotions influence wealth and self-worth

  • Language to recognize internal barriers without shame

  • Tools to regulate stress responses around money and success

  • A renewed sense of permission to grow without abandoning themselves

When Your Emotions Feel Broke is especially resonant for women, high achievers, helpers, caregivers, first-generation professionals, and anyone who outwardly “looks successful” while inwardly struggling with worth, safety, or self-trust.

Format: Keynote or keynote + guided reflection

Interactive Session ABSTRACT For College Students

Career readiness is not built on résumés alone. It is shaped by the internal beliefs students carry about what they deserve, what they are capable of, and whether success feels safe.

This interactive, psychology-based session introduces students to the missing link in career and financial development: emotional conditioning around worth, scarcity, and self-trust. Drawing from trauma psychology, behavioral science, and real-world career examples, students will explore how unexamined beliefs silently influence networking, salary negotiations, leadership confidence, and long-term career decisions.

Through guided reflection, practical frameworks, and applied exercises, students will learn how to recognize internal barriers that show up as impostor syndrome, over-performance, avoidance, or self-discounting … and how to replace them with grounded, empowered decision-making.

Rather than focusing on hustle culture, this session equips students with emotional resilience, self-awareness, and nervous-system regulation skills that support sustainable career growth and confident self-advocacy.
